As our men and women in the armed forces put their lives on the line overseas, many of us at home begin to forget the reason they were sent in the first place. With high gas prices, prisoner abuse scandals, war in the Middle East and Michael Moore winning an Academy Award last year it's easy to see how all this negativity falling into our laps can make us lose sight of their mission. I feel that it's my duty as an American citizen to remind people what their loved ones are striving to fight and protect during these turbulent times:
