So it may be a guilty pleasure, but like my review said I genuinely do enjoy watching White Christmas every time around this year. Same goes for A Garfield Christmas Special, Nightmare Before Christmas, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Scrooged and even Ghostbusters II (because of the whole being set around New Year's Eve theme).
What other holiday movie gems am I missing out on? TELL ME NOW! Please.
Mixed Nuts with Steve Martin is always a tradition for my family. It's pretty sweet with cross-dressers, a serial killer, and an insane pregnant woman (Juliette Lewis who also plays Audrey on National Lampoon's).
That along with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Muppet Family Christmas, Merry Christmas Mr. Bean, Scrooged, Charlie Brown's Christmas, The Muppet Christmas Carol (yes, we like the Muppets), and the old 80's Christmas Carol and I think that's it for our favourites.
I forgot all about the Muppet movies! I particularly like the Muppet Family Christmas -- it still has some of Henson's knowing humor, and I also enjoy the fact that the Swedish Chef spends about 3/4 of the running time plotting how to murder Big Bird.
my favorite christmas movie is Smokey Mountain Christmas starring Dolly parton and Lee majors! She plays a famous country singer who wants to get back to her roots, so she rents a cabin in the smokey mountains, but when she arrives, there are seven run away orphans living there. She cant send them back, because the orphan ladies are mean =( There is also the fear of Mountain Dan, a mean survivalist Its soooooooooo good, I seriously wish they'd made a smokey montain new year, st. patrick's day, easter, summer vacation, halloween, thanksgiving, and christmas II.
I also really like a christmas carol starring the black one. Oh, and the new miracle on 34th street. I've never seen white christmas =(
