It seems as though a lot of us have something to say about this so there may as well be a thread dedicated to it. This is my response to what was last said in the Pancake Porn thread.

Yeah, I'm totally saying Lupin, Tonks oh yeah and whichever Weasley twin it was aren't really main characters. I mean the Weasley was a pretty big role but I still wasn't sad when anyone died except umm....possibly Goyle or Crabbe or whichever one it was. Hahaha uh wait...no. I think the only exception is when at first I thought Harry was dead - that was sort of sad. He should have died though. It seemed like the only way possible...because didn't the prophecy say that neither him or Voldemort can die while the other lives?

Anyway, Mrs. Weasley's outburst on Bellatrix Lestrange was entertaining enough.

I just really hated the ending, as I've already discussed with Joe via Facebook. The 18 years in the future was way too lame.

I thought Fred dying was sad. I like the twins.

But she's been teasing Hagrid's death for three books, I think he should have been killed off. And technically Harry DID die, but he just came back.

I heard the epilogue originally was a long thing saying what happened to everyone but she wanted something more personal so threw that lame chapter together instead. Basically she wanted to release the other thing as another book for more money, of course.

Yeah she probably will do that...see I think that if you're going to end a series you have to end it for good. But then I can see that she would probably have an army of 13 year olds at her doorstep if she killed Hermione or Ron...or Harry for good. It kind of reminds me of Misery by Stephen King.

I think I just was more into finishing the book by the time I got to that last battle so I didn't really have any emotions left...seeing as I read the entire thing over the course of about a day and a half. I agree though that Hagrid should have been killed off...he sort of got more pathetic as the series progressed. Actually, the person I was most sad about dying in the entire book was Mad Eye Moody at the beginning. I liked that crazy bugger.

Well, I actually liked the book. She managed to write it in a way that she doesn't need a group of body guards by her side at all times, but still keep it generally likable.

A lot of other reviewers, however, were disappointed at the whole "Master of Death" thing making Harry "invincible", but that's because they basically rushed through the book for the sake of having read it, instead of thoroughly understanding it. It explains everything if you pay attention.

I liked the book fine. I haven't flat-out disliked any of the books, although the Order of the Phoenix came closest. But I do think Hagrid should've died and I do think the part she stuck on the end was pure cheese. And I didn't expect it to happen at all but I would've been kind of impressed if she really had killed Harry.

Oh and I thought it was funny she killed a twin because it seems she was just like "Well there's two of them, isn't there? That's pretty much a freebie."

HERE IS A HARRY POTTER DISCREPANCY I HAVE THOUGH!!!!!!!

I am not sure if I am just missing something or if I found a plot hole because I think Rowling usually does a good job of tying stuff together well enough.

OK SO if I am understanding correctly, the Elder Wand (that's what it's called right?), was technically owned by Malfoy because he disarmed Dumbledore BEFORE Snape killed him, right? But then this is the thing! Didn't Harry become the owner of the wand because he defeated Malfoy? But at the time, Malfoy did not have the wand! SO under this premise that Snape wasn't the wand owner because he shot Dumbledore when he was NOT HOLDING THE WAND, there is a contradiction because Harry beat Malfoy while he was also NOT HOLDING THE WANDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

Or did I overlook something? I NEED UR HELP GUYZ

Yeah, that's true...I was kind of confused about that whole thing and how it could possibly be rightfully Harry's. You'd think it would still belong to Malfoy because he wasn't using the Elder Wand when Harry defeated him. It just stayed with Dumbledore in his tomb when Draco had no idea that the wand belonged to him.

I think that she just had to figure out some connection to make all of the Hallows end up to be Harry's...and at that point in the book you're not supposed to notice any discrepancies.

Well I saw it like this:
In any case, as long as the wand wasn't Voldy's it was just a normal wand in his hands. If the wand WAS Voldy's it would've totally pwnt Harry.

It was very plot-holey, I agree, but I filled it with the above reason.

Yeah it was just a normal wand I guess but Voldemort is still supposed to be like STUPID POWERFUL DOOD and the reason he REALLY beat that Voldemort was because Voldemort was using a wand that didn't belong to him against the person to whom it rightfully did.

So it still just seems like a ROWLING FUCK UP to me. Or an RFU as us fans call it.
