I've noticed that literally everybody on the internet knows somebody who worked on Skullgirls. So my assumption is at this point the people involved (or some of them) have seen the video?? I wonder how they feel about it...
I would like to e in a pow-wow with them. I'd have nothing constructive to say though, let's make that clear right off the bat.

I have a friend who actually burst into an emotional argument about how many people she personally knew who lended their time to working on the project and about how I should respect an fledgling company for stealing internet jokes and making every little thing in the game a homage to something else while creating a poor shadow of a fighter that people willingly put in the same sentence as "King of Fighters".
I apologize if I was curt with you but I care entirely too much about insignificant matters!

From what I understand, a friend of a friend of a friend already forwarded it to someone on the team the first day I uploaded it though I clearly can't say with total confidence that it got watched by any of these people. Thing is, all these guys FOR SURE use the internet and I sort of can't see why it wouldn't get back to them eventually, if not already.
I sort of picked Skullgirls with the idea in mind that it was such an internet-birthed thing that the subset of geek culture that cared about it/was involved with it would take notice and get pissed off so it was calculated trolling. Regarding your friend's argument, USAgent, there are loads of indie developers out there now and a lot of them are creating much more interesting and inventive stuff. I imagine Skullgirls is a totally competent (and maybe even great) fighting game...for fighting game fans. But as someone who largely doesn't give a shit about the genre, I just see it as another fighting game with an adolescent approach to sexuality and, yeah, a bunch of stupid internet memes. I find it pretty sad that you just need to parrot these things back at people and they love you for it, but then I guess that's often how memes work.
ALSO THAT'S OKAY I just didn't get why I was suddenly being insulted (or if it was a joke) for publicizing something I made on my own website so I responded with my cleverest of vitriol.
